Active Learning Moveable (ALM):
Lightweight, reconfigurable furniture on wheels, small whiteboards that lock into the ends of the tables and hang on the walls, extra small, medium, and large whiteboards on walls, movable “thread” power station outlets all around the room, floating presenter desk, 1 projector and projection screen controlled by a presenter podium, Qomo QD3900 document camera, USB microphone, and distributed audio.
Moveable Tables/Seats (MTS):
Tables and Seating that can be arranged or moved within a classroom.
Moveable Chair w/ Tablet (MOV):
Individual tablet-top desks that can be arranged or moved within a classroom.
Fixed Table/Seats (FIXS):
Both Tables and Seating are fixed, permanent locations within a classroom, and cannot be moved.
Fixed Chair w/ Tablet (FIX):
Individual tablet-top desks that have a fixed, permanent location within a classroom and cannot be moved.
Power at Student Desks (PWR):
Student workstations have available power for laptops, phone, charging, etc.

CLASSROOM DISPLAYS
Interactive Whiteboard (aka smartboard) (SMBD):
An interactive, large touch-sensitive whiteboard that uses a sensor for detecting user input. Includes touchscreen monitors in addition to the touchscreen displays
Interactive Display (Newline, Cleartouch, Qomo) (ID):
An interactive, large touch-sensitive display that uses a sensor for detecting user input. Includes touchscreen monitors in addition to the touchscreen displays
Touch Screen Monitor (TSM):
Using a stylus at the teaching lectern offers interaction with the instructor's PC and the ability to draw/annotate the content on said instructional PC.
Smartboard TV (SMTV):
Touch interaction on the wall-mounted TV display for the instructor PC and the ability to draw/annotate over content on said instructional PC.
Confidence Monitor (CONF):
A dedicated monitor within the classroom, whereby an instructor can view exactly what is being viewed at the front of the room while his/her attention remains focused on the class.
Multiple Monitors (MM):
Two or more display monitors showcasing the same information across monitors. Some classrooms use these to view from around obstructions or from less-than-ideal viewing angles.

Single Projection (PS):
The classroom has a single projector and projection surface (screen) used to display content
Dual Projection (PD):
The classroom has two projectors and two projection surfaces used to display content
Triple Projection (PT):
The classroom has three projectors and three projection surfaces used to display content
CLASSROOM AUDIO
Stereo (stereophonic sound) (SS):
2-channel sound through the front of classroom speakers.
In-Ceiling Speakers (ICS):
Sound is directed through multiple speakers installed within the ceiling for even audio distribution
Lectern Speaker (point source) (LS):
A single speaker mounted within the front of the lectern providing audio from the point of origin
Microphone (MPHN):
A device used to amplify the instructor’s or presenter’s voice
Wireless Microphone (WM):
Wireless lapel/lanyard microphone with rechargeable battery
LIGHTING
Lighting Blackout (BLCK):
Darkening a classroom, removing all light
LECTURE CAPTURE
Simulcast Capability (SC):
Automatic Lecture Capture with video, audio from microphones, and projected content
Live Stream/Web Conferencing (LSWC):
Remote students can see video, projected content, and hear audio from microphones. Unless otherwise stated, this would utilize Zoom.
Integrated Webcam on Lectern PC (IWL):
Webcam installed on or within the instructor monitor on the lectern (only captures the presenter)
CLASSROOM VIDEO PLAYERS
VHS (Video Home System) (VHS):
A device that plays analog video using magnetic tapes. This device is no longer manufactured but remains available in many classrooms.
Blue-Ray (BR):
A device that plays digital, high definition (720p & 1080p), and ultra-high definition (2160p) video using digital optical discs.
Region-Free DVD (RFD):
A device that plays standard definition (480p), upscaled to 1080p video using digital optical discs that do not have region-encoding. This device can play DVDs from around the world, regardless of the DVD region restrictions.
WRITING SURFACE
Chalkboard (CHLK):
A reusable board (non-electronic) with a dark surface used for teaching or presentations. Requires chalk.
White Board (WBD):
A reusable board (non-electronic) with a white surface used for teaching or presentations. Requires dry-erase markers.
FLOORING
Slopped Floor (aka raked) (SF):
Seating is on an upwards slope, away from the stage.
Tiered Lecture Room (LEC):
Seating is arranged in sloping tiers, usually utilizing steps.
Raised Teaching Platform (PLAT):
A raised teaching platform at the front of the room.
ACCESSIBILITY
Compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (HNDI):
Academic instructional space that complies with and does not impede the movement of students, staff, or faculty with disabilities.
Non-Compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (NHC):
Academic instructional space that does not comply with or provide for the safe movement of students, staff, or faculty with disabilities.
SOFTWARE
The "Software Request" option on the Classroom Podium Systems section of the IT Service Catalog should be used to request any software not listed within the Software Center. Certain software applications are individually or departmentally licensed and installed on an as-requested basis. The software request option routes the request through the requestor's department to ensure they hold an active license for the requested software before it is routed to the OneIT team.
LARGE SPACE ACCOMMODATIONS (AUDITORIUM)
Audio Mixing Board (AMB):
An electronic device for mixing audio signals, used in sound recording, mixing, balancing reproduction, and sound reinforcement. The adjusted sound is then sent to an amplified sound system.
Auxiliary Audio Inputs (AAI):
Often labeled AUX, they are a socket into which a wired device can be connected. The common socket would allow for a 3.5mm jack to be inserted. This wired connection allows sound to be shared between devices.
